I don’t know why I wrote these…
There once was a man from Tibet,
who incessantly gambled and bet.
he thought it quite funny,
to squander his money,
and ended up buried in debt.
There once was a man from Peru,
who believed he could play the kazoo.
But he was rather small,
and he had a bad fall,
when he fainted ’cause his face had turned blue.
Adam loved the life he was leadin’,
there in the garden of Eden.
But his wife was named Eve,
and she caused him to grieve,
when she though that apples were good eatin’.
These are really bad.
If you have ever read Douglas Hofstadter’s book, I am a Strange Loop, you will know that a strange loop is a feedback loop with a circular hierarchy. In his book, Hofstadter talks about feedback loops created by pointing a camera at a screen displaying what the camera sees. It raises the question- What is the camera seeing? The screed displays what the camera sees, and the camera sees only the screen. If you want to experiment with strange loops yourself, you can easily create one by pointing a webcam at whatever window is displaying the webcam’s input, like the pictures I have inserted above. It’s amazingly mezmerizing.
Expect the unexpected,
Lie about the truth,
You’re youngest in your old age,
and oldest when in youth.
The world’s a contradiction,
It doesn’t make much sense,
and talk is talk and words are words, and I don’t know the rest.
